Really stuggled, back to the drawing board......
DAIWA GORDON LEAGUE OPEN - SIMMS BRIDGE TO PILOT BRIDGE
    54 PEGS
Fished on the unfashionable Simms to Pilot length everyone was talking about the Pilot Tanker Bay as the the place to be, the Gloucester Canal however once again had different ideas - put simply no one can predict where the winner will come from on this venue.  Whilst the skimmers dissappeared roach dominated in another tight frame. Steve Ford, Daiwa Gordon League, swapped carp for quality roach to win this one from permanent peg 188 on the straight above Rea bridge, where he fished feeder for 11lbs 3 oz, a net containing 4 roach over a pound. Second was Alan Jones (Daiwa Gordon League) on peg 278 next to Pilot bridge where he caught 10lbs 11oz of roach on short and long pole, maggot over groundbait. Tony Price was third with a level feeder caught 10lbs from in the middle of the Simms Rea length.

Due to a rowing Regatta on the rest of the canal this latest Sunday open was run between Hempsted Bridge and the Docks. Although pegs in Monk Meadow dock did not produce as expected, weights were again good throughout the remainder of the length.  Winner on the day from a pegs on the Hempsted upstream length was Ian Sheppard (Daiwa Gordon League) who landed skimmers up to a pound and a half on pole and maggot to weigh 18lbs 3oz.  On the next peg experienced Gloucester Canal angler Brian Pollard was second with 13lbs 13oz, again on the pole but fishing punch bread, and including some quality roach in his net.
